It's Thanksgiving in Daytona Beach, with the high temperature around 82 F, and lots of sunshine.
Thousands of visitors from parts far and wide, decided to take advantage of our beautiful weather, white sand beaches, and blue skies.
Dozens of local restaurants are serving up traditional thanksgiving fare for those looking for turkey, dressing, and all the fixin's. Simple family style restaurant chains like Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans offer traditional Thanksgiving dinners. Another casual local spot, Steve's Famous Diner has a traditional holiday feast at its two Daytona Beach locations. Don't forget about Webber's Steakhouse in South Daytona offering a traditional Thanksgiving meal from noon to 8 p.m.
If you wish turkey with a view, Aunt Catfish's on the River, offers a traditional Thanksgiving buffet along with vistas of the sparkling Halifax River. Other riverside choices are Hidden Treasure locations are offering turkey dinners alongside their usual great seafood. Malibu Beach Grill, out west in Port Orange is another great spot to get that turkey and dressing you crave.
If you're up in Ormond Beach, River Grille on the Tomoka offers a Thanksgiving feast until 5 p.m. Upscale Alexander's Prime in Ormond Beach has three seatings for Thanksgiving dinner at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. Others in Ormond Beach include the 31 Supper Club, and Angelina's Diner.
So even if you ditched the family get together up north and flew down south, you can still have the Thanksgiving food you love without all the prep work and getting your your cheek pinched by Aunt Helen.
One last tip. If you're someone like me who loves the leftovers as much as your first meal, buy a couple extra dinners to go. You'll have just what you need for that midnight snack. Party on.
